Club Golf Wins Spring Season Opener

Colonials place 1st and 5th out of 7 in 1st NCCGA Atlantic Regional Tournament

Morgantown, WV- The Men's Club Golf team picked up their first tournament victory of the spring season at the Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa during the final weekend of March. The Colonials had two teams enter in the 7 team field, along with two WVU teams, two Pitt teams, and a Slippery Rock team. The Colonial's primary squad finished 1st place out of the 7 and the B squad finished 5th, and 2nd out of the 3 B squads. RMU also had some individuals compete as part of a C squad, but no team score was registered for them.

RMU finished the tournament with a total score of 394, only +34 over par as a team. They beat 2nd place West Virginia by 17 strokes and 3rd place Pitt by 35. The B squad finished with a 455, +95 over par.

Individually, junior Aaron Fetzner for the Colonials was the class of the field, shooting only +3 over par for a score of 75. He led the way as RMU had 4 players in the top 5, with Steven Ross at a 78 for 2nd place with Cole Bogozi and Nathan Capo finishing tied for 3rd at 79. John Morgus was the B squad's top performer with an 88, +16 over par. The full individual results can be found below.
