Club Golf Podiums at NCCGA National Invitational

Colonials finish 3rd out of 15 schools to conclude terrific spring season

Hot Springs, AR - The Men's Club Golf team traveled over the weekend to Arkansas for the NCCGA National Invitational. This national tournament was one of two nationals events happening that weekend for the NCCGA, and talented clubs from all over the country made the journey to compete. RMU faced off against 14 other schools to compete for the National Invitational Championship, and the Colonials finished 3rd out of the 15 schools.

RMU put up a strong team score of 409 on day one, placing them second in the field only behind eventual champions Northwestern. Despite shooting a better score on day two with a 404, so did several other competitors and Illinois State slipped past RMU by 3 strokes. The Colonials finished 3rd with a 813, 17 strokes back of 1st place and 9 ahead of 4th place Minnesota. RMU also beat out some much larger universities in the field like West Virginia, Temple, MIT, and Missouri.

Individually, senior Cole Bogozi was RMU's top performer finishing tied for 10th with a 159 over the two days. Junior Steven Ross had a very strong showing as well finishing tied for 11th with a 160. The whole team's individual results can be found below. Overall, it was an incredible finish to a strong spring season for the Colonials where they won two regional tournaments and podium the final regional event and Nationals. And they'll be looking to continue that success in the fall of '22.
