Butler, PA- The Men's Club Golf team kicked off their season in Butler, PA with a tournament at the Conleys Resort Inn. The overall field had 12 teams, with RMU comprising three of them. The teams found varying levels of success, with the Colonials A team finishing 3rd, Colonials B finishing 5th, and Colonials C finishing 11th of the twelve squads. RMU was the only school besides Pitt to field three teams.

The A squad finished with a final score of 767 over the weekend. This put them only +18 behind the tournament champs in West Virginia who finished with a 751. RMU trailed 2nd place Pitt by only 8 strokes. Junior Steven Ross was the team's best finisher, whose weekend total of 146 was only +4 over par. His score was also good enough to finish 4th overall amongst individual players for the weekend.

RMU's 2nd team grinded out a Top 5 finish thanks to a final score of 821. Despite sitting in 6th place by 6 strokes after the first day of competition, the team rallied on the Sunday portion of the event. They went -11 compared to the team ahead of them to pass them and finish 5th overall by 5 strokes. Dylan Dunlevy was the team's top performer, going +14 with a weekend total of 156.

Finally, the third team RMU fielded struggled early but found a strong rebound late in the tournament. After Saturday, the team sat last with a 16 stroke gap to the team ahead of them. However, RMU came out on Sunday strong. They went -25 compared to their previous day and -23 to the team ahead of them in Slippery Rock B. This helped RMU C leapfrog Slippery Rock B and finish 11th. Alexander Franco led RMU C with his 171 weekend total, going +29 to par.

Men's Club Golf will be in action next on October 2nd and 3rd at the Quarry Golf Club in Canton, Ohio.
