The RMU Colonials (1-0) squared off with the Cal Poly Mustangs (0-1) to finish day one of the NCRHA national championships. 

RMU got an early lead thanks to Giovanni Palombo, his third of the tournament. 

Cal Poly would respond with three consecutive goals in a 4-and-a-half-minute span with the first coming on the power play. Robert Morris would inch their way closer with Palombo's second of the game on the power play to end period two.

The Colonials' power play would stay hot with two more goals from Matthew Purdue to tie it and Jeremiah Brosovic to take the lead. The Mustangs would not go away quietly though, and with just under two minutes to go they would tie the game with the goalie pulled. Only 43 seconds later, the Mustangs would capitalize on an odd-man rush to take the lead. The Colonials would not be able to come back in this one. 

The Colonials fell to 1-1 in pool play and faced off against Endicott today, Thursday April 18th at 10:00 A.M.
