Bishop Canevin's Jonathan Bernotas to stay home with RMU

RMU is proud to announce that Jonathan Bernotas from Bishop Canevin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. has chosen to attend RMU and be a member of the RMU Club Bowling Team.

Bernotas signed his letter of intent and commitment on April 11th surrounded by his high school head coach, Kurt Gerchow and RMU Men's Assistant Coach, Ramon Estrada, as well as some of Jonathan's closest family and friends. The Colonials' staff is excited to add Bernotas to their roster. He is the 11th recruit this year and he is thrilled to be the newest member of the team.

Bernotas accomplished a great deal during his senior year at Bishop Canevin. He rolled a perfect 300 game on December 1, 2023 and he was selected as the Section MVP. He competed in 10 conference matches and averaged 217 for the season. Bernotas didn't stop there as he placed 10th in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League Individual Championships to qualify for Western Regionals. He made it all the way to the quarterfinals and qualified for the PA State Championships. There, Bernotas finished 6th in the state with a 217 average.

"We are impressed with Jonathan's competitive spirit and high school accomplishments, and we are eager to have Jonathan join the Colonials in August" said Men's Assistant Coach, Ramon Estrada. Director of the RMU Club Bowling Team, John Michalenko, is equally delighted and excited to have Jonathan on the team. "Jonathan brings a strong portfolio of experience and accomplishments that will benefit our roster. We can't wait to have him join the team"

Jonathan will join the RMU Bowling Team in August 2024 and the entire Club Sports Department is excited to have him join the University!
