The 2-0 RMU Colonials faced off against the 2-0 Endicott Gulls for the first game of the day for RMU.

Camron Smith scored to open things up for RMU after a give and go with Giovanni Palombo. Endicott struck on the powerplay two minutes later off the stick of Spencer Bergeron. RMU responded with two as Jeremiah Brosovic finished off a beautiful power play sequence followed by a Luke Zukowski shot attempt that sailed wide but right to the stick of Tanner Foley who put it into the empty cage. Justin Stergos would get one more for the Gulls before the period would expire and would end period 1, 3-2.

Endicott's George Gatzoulis would open up the scoring in period two to tie things at three. Palombo picked off an errand pass in the neutral zone and ripped one in for RMU to regain the lead. Endicott would hammer two in before the close of the period from Brian McDonald to take their first lead of the game, 5-4.

A back and forth 3rd period that took it down to the last minute for one team to score. Camron Smith scored his 2nd of the game from the circle with the goalie pulled and RMU tied things up at five.

Off to overtime we go for the fight for the number 1 seed in Pool C. 4 minutes of sudden death 3 on 3. Back and forth action from both sides until Tanner Foley poked a puck free, put himself on a breakaway, and found the back of the net to win it for RMU. The Colonials now improve to 3-0 and have clinched the top spot in their pool. Jarrett Tomazich played a great game stopping 28 off 33 shot attempts.

Next up is the 0-3 Tampa Spartans to close out pool play. The first period was a quiet one until a Palombo penalty put the Spartans on the powerplay and Nicholas Tartaglia made them pay. Minutes later, RMU got their response tally from Smith. We would remain tied for the remainder of period one.

Tampa would open up period 2 scoring 30 seconds in from Derrick Watson. Penalties became costly for the Colonials as the Spartans put up 2 more on the powerplay from Eli Kirby and Nathan Duhaime. RMU would get a late tally from Palombo on a give and go with Foley to gain some momentum going into period 3, down 4-2.

Just like in period two, penalties were costly but this time in favor of the Colonials. RMU would capitalize on their next two powerplays to tie things at 4 thanks to Brosovic and Palombo. Just as the penalty expired, Shane Yobbi fired one through the slot and the puck bounced its way in and RMU took the lead 5-4. Austin Yobbi would follow up with a goal of his own to put the Colonials up by two. Palombo put the dagger in and RMU would improve to 4-0 with a 7-4, come from behind win over Tampa. Tomazich continued his incredible performance in net stopping 34 of 38 shots.

The Colonials will be back in action in round 1 as they rematch the Temple Owls.
