RMU Club Hockey is excited to welcome Jocelyn Filla from Delta Junction High School as a member of the ACHA Women's Division II Ice Hockey team.
The RMU Women's Club Hockey team recently signed their newest recruit as Delta Junction Alaska resident, Jocelyn Filla, pledged her commitment to the Colonials. Coach Napoli had plans to travel to Alaska this week, so Jocelyn signed her letter of intent surrounded by her Mom & boyfriend in Fairbanks, AK. A number of her future RMU teammates joined by Google Meet to participate in the signing - offering a very unique signing photo with her teammates!
The Colonials' staff is very excited to get Filla on campus this August and get to work. Looking at Jocelyn's resume, it is clear Head Coach Jim Napoli and the rest of the team are adding another reliable player to the roster.
Jocelyn played for the Alaska All-Stars this past season, which included a trip to USA Hockey Nationals where her team took home a bronze medal. She has played hockey in Alaska since she was 7 years old, after figure skating for 2 years.
In addition to ice hockey, Jocelyn plays volleyball, softball, and video games, and enjoys sampling different cuisines during her travels. Jocelyn is looking forward to joining RMU and exploring the healthcare field.
It is clear why Jocelyn was heavily sought after by the Colonials, and the club is excited to see her take her talents to the collegiate level.
Filla will join the RMU Women's D2 Club Hockey Team in the fall and the entire Club Sports Department is excited to have her join the University!
