The Women's Club Hockey Team reached new highs this season as a franchise making the playoffs for the first time ever. Coach Jim Napoli brought in 11 new freshman recruits over the offseason to revamp this roster.

The Colonials started the season with a massive upset OT victory over the nationally ranked Lawrence Tech squad thanks to an Amara Marrese game-winner and a 49-save performance from goaltender MacKenzie Walkowiak. RMU would fall in their next two contests but battled back for a decisive 9-0 shutout for Alexia Martinez over Slippery Rock. Forwards Sydney Pitkins and Olivia Baker as well as defenseman Maggie Moore all collected their first career goals.

RMU would fall in their next three games but find themselves on a two-game winning streak to follow, including what would be the deciding factor of them eventually making the playoffs, a win over Pitt. The Colonials would find themselves in a tie vs RIT and then a massive win over Maryland a couple of weeks later.

November 23rd saw the Colonials host the Mercyhurst Lakers in the Kaylee Ogea Memorial Game. Despite falling short of a victory, the team did an amazing job honoring the life of their teammate before the game.  RMU would close the 2024 campaign with a sweep over West Chester 5-1 and 6-1.

RMU's 2025 schedule only featured 4 contests prior to the playoffs. The Colonials fell to Niagara and Mercyhurst to start the campaign but got another massive victory shutting out Pitt 3-0. Kirsten Lallone earned her first shutout stopping all 38 shots. RMU would close the season in a tie with WVU.

RMU clinched the #4 seed for the CHE playoffs and squared off versus #1 Niagara who had previously defeated the Colonials 5-2.  Taylor Plunkard scored the opening goal for RMU just under 3 minutes into the period, tallying the first-ever d2 playoff goal in program history. Niagara responded with three straight tallies to make it 3-1 Purple Eagles. Erin Secilla got one late in period one for RMU to send the teams to the dressing room 3-2. Niagara's offense exploded over the next two periods tallying 7 straight and taking the victory 10-2.

The Colonials made a massive leap this season making the playoffs and now will look to continue to build on that going into next season where the future looks beyond bright. Seniors Rebecca Shook, Danielle Karol, and Mikayla Bittner will depart after being a part of the inaugural teams and setting the standard for what is to come.
