RMU is fortunate that Sydnee Pitkins from Knoch High School, Butler, PA has chosen to attend RMU and be a member of the RMU ACHA Women's Division II Club Hockey Team.
The RMU Women's Club Hockey team recently signed their newest recruit as Butler, PA resident, Sydnee Pitkins, pledged her commitment to the Colonials. Head Coach Jim Napoli and assistant coach Bernie Marrese recently traveled to the SCS Signing Day event to take part in the ceremony as did some of Pitkins' closest friends and family.
The Colonials' staff is very excited to get Pitkins on campus this August and get to work. Looking at Pitkins' resume, it is pretty clear as to why she was heavily sought after by the Colonials'.
Sydnee played Pens Elite at U10 and U12, and has played for Steel City Selects for the past five years. Her SCS teams made it to USA Hockey Nationals each year, and in 2021 earned a Bronze Medal in Denver. Sydnee's Steel City U19 team recently won Mid-Am Districts to earn yet another trip to USA Hockey Nationals and we are excited to see her take her talents to the collegiate level.
Pitkins will join the RMU Women's D2 Club Hockey Team starting in the fall also pursuing a degree in nursing and the entire Club Sports Department is excited to have her join the University!
