The RMU Tier II Roller Hockey Team finished their season as the only undefeated team en route to their WPACRHL Championship.

The Colonials came into the playoffs as the #1 seed after finishing the regular season with an 8-0-0 record. With both of their goaltenders unavailable, Nick Patnella would join the team and start each playoff game for RMU. In the first round, RMU faced off against CMU in a best-of-3 series. These two teams met twice during the regular season with RMU winning both meetings, outscoring the Tartans 23-6. After a forfeit win over CMU in game 1 due to unforeseen circumstances, RMU took care of business in game 2 with a dominant performance in a 10-2 victory. This gave RMU a 2-0 series victory as they awaited the completion of the Penn State Beaver and Duquesne series.

Heading into the finals, the Colonials were matched up against the Dukes. These two teams also met twice during the regular season with RMU again winning both meetings, outscoring the Dukes 16-6. Game 1 began with some back-and-forth action between RMU and DUQ with Duquesne ultimately heading into the second period with a 3-2 lead. The two would battle again in the second period, but DUQ came out on top again with a 4-3 lead. Within the first 10 seconds of period 3, Caleb Morgan would tie the game up and the Colonials pressed on from there. Parker Rutherford continued to display his offensive prowess from the regular season with a 4-goal game which, along with sound defense from the team, contributed to a 6-4 comeback win to take the series lead 1-0.

In game 2, the Colonials had a chance to complete their undefeated season with a win over the Dukes. RMU wasted little time with Tyler Weekley getting the Colonials on the board with his first of the night, directly off of a faceoff in the Dukes zone. Weekley would end up finishing the game with a 4-goal night of his own. After ending period 1 with a 3-1 lead and period 2 with a 4-2 lead, the Colonials would cap off period 3 with a 7-2 victory, securing them the WPACRHL Championship and an undefeated season.

Going back to the 2019-2020 season with the Colonials ending on a 7-game winning streak before the COVID-19 pandemic ended their season, the Colonials have won an incredible 19-games in a row (including the most recent 12-0-0 regular season & playoffs). This group was special from top to bottom. From new faces on offense, defense, and in goal, the RMU Tier II Roller Hockey Team could not be more proud. As they say goodbye to graduating seniors Nick Patnella, Ethan Grant, Ross LoCastro, and Phillip Bacinski, the team continues to celebrate their championship and look forward to next season.
