It was a strong defensive match between the Colonials and Crimson Hawks on Saturday. Despite their best efforts, the Colonials fell to IUP by a score of 10-5. RMU's captain, Ryan Lowden-Stoole scored the Colonials only try of the game. IUP fields a team in the Division I Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference and was a good final test for the Colonials. The Crimson Hawks play in a league with heavy hitters such as St. Joe's, Pitt, WVU, and Temple University and posted a 2-3 record this past fall. RMU Coach Shawn Crago cited newcomer Noah Ledford, a transfer from John Carroll University, as an impact performer both in the contest and early in the pre-season. RMU opens its regular season with a trip to Fairmont, West Virginia this upcoming Saturday with a noon contest against Fairmont State University.
