Moon Township, PA – The RMU Club Rugby team is set to take the field this Homecoming Weekend as they face off against Duquesne University in a high-stakes rivalry match. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, offering tremendous exposure for the team and the RMU club sports department.
Coming off a strong 6–1 season, the Domers are eager to bounce back after a tough loss to Franciscan University. Wins over SUNY Fredonia (28-15), Kent State (38-36), Grove City (38-10), Cal U (25-0), and Case Western (25-0), along with a season-opening draw against West Virginia, have proven RMU's depth, toughness, and talent.
Earlier this year, RMU Rugby became the first club sport to reach endowment status, creating a lasting scholarship fund for incoming freshmen. It's a milestone that highlights the program's sustained excellence, both athletically and organizationally.
"From the alumni to our current players to the fans, this program is about more than just rugby. And being featured on ESPN+ during Homecoming is another step forward in highlighting our club teams."
-Payton Ernst, Director, Competitive & recreational Sports
The Domers will welcome Duquesne University to Jo Walton Stadium with kickoff set for 7:00 pm. A strong home crowd is expected, and the players are ready to deliver in front of alumni, students, and now a national audience.
