Kraemer's Hat Trick Powers RMU to a 6-4 Victory Over RIT

Rochester, NY – The RMU men's D1 Club Ice Hockey team secured a victory on Friday, January 13th, defeating RIT 6-4 at the Genesee Valley Park Sports Complex in Rochester, NY. The Colonials improved to 11-9-0 (.625) overall thanks to the victory.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
The Colonials opened the scoring with a goal from Justin Adamski, assisted by Roman Kraemer and Giovanni Palombo at 5:51 of the first period. RIT responded with a goal from Czornobil at 9:42. The first period ended with the score tied 1-1.
In the second period, the Colonials took the lead with a goal from Garrett Walker at 4:59. RIT responded again with a power play goal from Gravel at 6:21. The Colonials regained the lead with a goal from George Makricostas, assisted by Byrne and Moran at 13:58. The second period ended with the Colonials leading 3-2.
In the third period, the Colonials secured the victory with three goals, Kraemer at 1:30 and 4:12, and Kraemer again at 19:59 (EN). RIT scored two goals, Low at 9:41 and Dodig at 13:06 (PP). The game ended with the Colonials winning 6-4.

QUOTABLE
"We are very happy to come away with a win tonight," RMU head coach Mike Joseph said. "RIT is a tough team and we had to work for this win. Our players stepped up and made key plays when we needed them."

STARBURST
The Colonials were led by Kraemer, who had a hat trick and assist for a four point night, and Adamski, who scored the opening goal and assisted on two others. RIT was led by Gravel with a goal and two assists.

GRACE SPACE PACE
Both teams were unable to score on the power play opportunities. RMU had 41 shots on goal while RIT had 39 shots on goal.

WIDE OPEN SPACES
RMU goalkeeper Reno Patrick had a total of 35 saves out of 39 shots on goal. RIT goalkeeper Morrison had 35 saves out of 41 shots on goal.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Colonials' next game is on Friday, January 20th at 6:30 PM against Syracuse University in the first of two road contests in New York.
