Robert Morris University D3 vs. University of Pitt Johnstown - 11/15/2024
On Friday night, the Robert Morris University Colonials took on an intense match-up against the University of Pitt Johnstown (UPJ) in a high-scoring game ending in a 5-3 loss. The game saw plenty of action with both teams scoring throughout.
In the first period, UPJ took an early lead with two goals. RMU responded later in the period with #26
Austin Patnesky finding the back of the net at 12:01. Despite the 11 shots, RMU was out shot 18-11 in the first period.
The second period was full of action as UPJ extended their lead with a third goal early on. The Colonials fought back with #14
Ethan Bendekovic scoring and then #23
Adam Sciorilli tying the game up with a minute left to go in the period. The Colonials out shot UPJ 18-10.
The third period was where UPJ took control. They scored two more goals, one at 15:59 and one at 12:34, sealing the win. Despite peppering the UPJ net with a total of 33 shots, RMU was unable to score. The final shot count was 55-33 RMU but the Colonials fell short 5-3.
RMU Women's D2 Vs. University of Delaware at Mercyhurst Showcase - 11/16/2024
The RMU Women's D2 team had a rough start to their weekend at the Mercyhurst Showcase, falling 7-5 to the Delaware Hens. The Colonials goals were led by #20
Danielle Karol who scored four of the goals for the Colonials and #19
Taylor Plunkard. #30
Mackenzie Walkowiak played in net but Delaware's abilities to capitalize on game movements made the difference, despite RMU out shooting them at times.

The Colonials focused on their Sunday afternoon match-up against the University of Maryland in the second game of the Erie College Showcase. They took home a 4-1 win, with goals scored by #19

Robert Morris University D4 vs. Cleveland State Vikings - 11/16/2024
The RMU Colonials D4 team put on a strong offensive game against Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon, dominating the VIkings in a 10-2 victory. The Colonials started out asserting themselves physically on the offensive attack.
In the first period, Cleveland State took an uprising 1-0 lead with a short-handed goal at 11:43. RMU quickly responded with two goals, one from #2
Connor Borsh assisted by #20
Nicholas Miles, #22
Brice Mroczka, and #4
Zachary Connelly then another goal by #12
Nathaniel Barr at the 6:00 mark. Cleveland State found the net once more with 5:45 left in the period ending the period 2-1, The Colonials held a 30-6 shot advantage after the first.
In the second period, RMU took full control, scoring four unanswered goals. #22

Elijah Zeis-Miller sealed the victory as the Colonials piled on four more goals. The final score was 10-2, a large victory for the Colonials with an amazing performance by goaltender #1

Robert Morris University D1 vs. John Carroll - 11/16/2024
In a hard-fought physical game on Saturday night, RMU D1 fell 4-3 to John Carroll. The game was tight from start to finish with both teams exchanging leads throughout the game.
John Carol had the first goal of the game at 15:24 but RMU quickly responded with a goal from #17
Tyler Draper at 11:15 to tie it up. The Colonials led the shots 15-13 by the end of the period remaining tied at 1-1.
The second period saw RMU take a 2-1 early lead with a goal from #19
Devin Rohrich at 19:12. John Caroll scored at 14:11 and RMU came back to regain the lead with another goal from Rohrich. John Caroll scored the final goal of the period with 1:04 left, taking a 4-3 lead into the break and John Caroll out shooting RMU in the second.
The third period was a physical battle with no goals scored as both teams fought to come out on top. Despite the Colonials' efforts and strong shots, the 4-3 score held. RMU finished with 47 shots but John Carolls 48 shots were enough to secure the win. The final score was 4-3 John Caroll.
The RMU hockey teams are back in action at home on Friday and Saturday this weekend. Come out and support your Colonials at the Island Sports Center!
