Moon, PA- "Robert Morris University has announced that due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the University has suspended all club sport practices and competitions until further notice. This includes all events held at home venues, away venues, and neutral sites. 

In accordance with the guidance of public health officials and medical professionals, the university has made the decision that classes will be held virtually until further notice. Given this decision, it is not feasible for practices and competitions to continue at this time." 

This comes from an email from Director of Campus Recreation, Dr. Armand Buzzelli that was sent to all club sport athletes, coaches, and advisors. Club Sports at RMU have been suspended until further notice for health safety reasons. Buzzelli also added "My heart breaks for those athletes whose seasons were ongoing, but the health and safety of our students and community is our number one priority at this time".

Campus recreation has also canceled all events and programs including in-person intramural sports and group exercise classes. Staff will begin to assess other student programs and potential opportunities to refocus student programming temporarily with an emphasis on events such as intramural esports tournaments for students, which could take place remotely. Our competitive esports programs may be impacted, but our professional staff is beginning to assess how to best operate moving forward.
