Moon, PA- RMU League of Legends took on Slippery Rock in the last game of the regular season, and put together a strong 2-0 victory. In the first game, the Colonials found themselves in a hole early. A couple of early miscues and lost battles put them behind Slippery Rock in terms of champion level and gold to work with. However, the Colonials were resilient and did not allow the situation to affect them. RMU bounced back through the middle of the game, and that momentum carried them through to the Slippery Rock Nexus. RMU took the 1-0 series lead.
It was a much different story in the second game but a very familiar outcome to the first game. There was no starting from behind in the 2nd game, and no comebacks were necessary. Robert Morris got a hot start and took an early advantage. The momentum snowballed from there as the Colonials took care of business in rapid fashion, destroying the enemy Nexus in less than 25 minutes.
After the match, Senior
Jonathan Russell stated "Everyone on the team had really good games and had a good mentality when we were behind to work together and pull back the first game. And we kept that rolling into the second game".
While it's not confirmed yet, the Colonials have put themselves in a good position to qualify for postseason play. The announcement of which teams will make the playoffs will be coming soon.
