Preview: RMU Rugby hosts Franiscan in a Huge Conference Game

Moon, PA- It is going to be a "Clash of the Mega Powers" tonight in the Three Rivers Rugby Conference as the Domers host Franciscan University at Joe Walton Stadium. These two teams have been the best of the conference for years, as each team was won the conference three times in the past six years. You would have to go all the way back to 2012 to find a conference champion not named Robert Morris University or Franciscan University. The most recent bout between the two teams ended in a 19-0 victory for the Domers, which won Robert Morris the 2018 conference championship.

Robert Morris is entering this matchup 1-0, after a dominant 81-24 victory over Fairmont State last weekend. The key to a Colonial win this evening will be a continued focus on ball distribution. Last week against Fairmont State, RMU had eleven different players record a try. Keeping Franciscan off balance with a series of attacks from different locations will likely be a focus for the Colonials.

Franciscan University also enters this matchup 1-0, following a 35-12 victory over conference newcomer Slippery Rock. Stopping captain Josh Leatherby will be a key focus for RMU in this one. Franciscan's captain has been named to the NSCRO's Rising Stars team each of the past two seasons.

Tonight's game will be held at Joe Walton Stadium starting at 7pm.
