Philippi, WV- Women's Rugby wrapped their season with a 4 game tournament in West Virginia. The team traveled down the night before the event and got ready to go for a long day of rugby against some of the top teams in the area.

Robert Morris' first match was against the host team, Alderson Broaddus University. ABU is a fairly new team only establishing a varsity squad this season. That has not stopped them from become a dominant program, as they stopped the Colonials in their tracks 44-0. It was a wide open match with a lot of speed on display from both sides.

Next up was a rematch against St. Vincent College. SVC was the school who ended Robert Morris' undefeated start to the season when they began 6-0. Unfortunately for RMU, the trend continued as SVC won 34-10. Madelyn Bashore and Ciera Thompson scored the tries for RMU.

RMU got into the win column for the third game of the afternoon against Clarion. These two squads meet to start the season and the Colonials had swept the season series against them. Robert Morris did it again here, winning 19-10 to improve to 1-2 on the afternoon. Morgan Schneider opened the scoring for the Colonials with her first try of the afternoon. Brianna Allen scored her first of the afternoon as well for the Colonials second try, and Ciera Thompson got her 2nd of the day for the final try. Bashore added two conversions.

Fairmont would be the final opponent for the team, and their physical style was a difficult match-up after a long afternoon. Brianna Allen would score the final try of the Colonials 2019-2020 but the Colonials 31-5.

Overall it was a good season for the Women's Rugby team. They finished 8-8 overall this season, including a 7-5 record during the regular season. Many of the teams younger players found themselves in the lineup and on the scoreboard this season, and encouraging sign of what is to come.
