Moon, PA- The Club Baseball team picked up their first series win of the season over the weekend against Carnegie Mellon. They would drop the second half of the back to back 8-3, but would return Sunday for the third game and win 10-7.
Game 1: RMU Wins 6-3
Robert Morris trailed for the majority of the game, but never by much. Carnegie Mellon got out to a 2-1 lead after 1 inning, but the score was still 2-1 entering the 5th. A big four run inning in the bottom of the 5th gave the Colonials a 5-3 lead. The defense finished the job for RMU as they logged the 6-3 win. This was a much needed rebound for Pitcher Josh McCoy. After dropping both of his first two starts on the season, the veteran pitcher was back in the win column following a strong complete game performance. McCoy allowed only 3 earned runs in 7 innings pitched, with 7 strikeouts to go with it. Josh Hittle was the big hitter for RMU in this one, going 2-3 with 1 RBI and 1 Stolen Base.

Angelo Doyle both recorded 2 stolen bases.
Game 2: RMU Loses 8-3
The Colonials offensive started well, but couldn't keep it going down the stretch. The Colonials led 2-0 after 1 and 3-1 after 2 innings, but that would be the last time RMU scored a run. Carnegie Mellon scored 5 in the top of the 4th inning to take a 7-3 lead and didn't look back. Freshman Pitcher
Andrew Sheeler had a rough day on the mound allowing 9 hits and 6 earned runs in only 4 innings pitched.
Robbie Seitz came in a did well closing out the game, allowing only 2 hits and getting 2 strikeouts in 3 innings pitched. Not a whole lot was happening from the plate either as the Colonials only registered 4 hits in the game.
Dominic Hood went 1 for 2, and
Ryan Myers stole 2 bases in the loss.
Game 3: RMU Wins 10-7
In the final game of the series, Robert Morris finally got the bats going for a strong offensive performance. The batters were getting on base early and often, with the team recording 9 hits and being walked another 5 times by games end. The Colonials led 6-2 after the second inning and 10-5 after the 4th.
Jared Milstein had a strong game at the plate with 2 doubles and 2 RBI while batting 2 for 3.
Jordan Sabo also knocked in 2 RBI in a 2 for 4 effort from the plate.
Ryan Myers got the start on the mound, and pitched 4.2 innings. He allowed only 3 earned runs and 6 hits.
