RMU Rugby opened the season against a strong Franciscan squad, trailing just 7–17 at halftime before fitness and depth proved costly in the second half, falling 7–56.
The Colonials responded with a determined performance at home, earning a 21–12 victory over West Virginia University. Jack Steiner delivered all 21 points while also making try-saving tackles, and the team showed improved defensive pressure and full commitment for 80 minutes.
Building on that momentum, RMU secured a tough 28–15 road win at SUNY Fredonia. Steiner once again led the scoring with 2 tries, 2 conversions, and 3 penalty kicks, while newcomer Thomas notched his first-ever try. Captain Nick Chromy was named Man of the Match for his leadership and effort.
With a 2–1 start, RMU has shown resilience, steady improvement, and a commitment to playing hard to the final whistle.
