2025 Club Sports Production Team Awards

Awards given to student workers for their dedication and ability to help raise the profile of club sports on campus

4/24/2025 1:34:00 PM

Below are the 2025 Club Sports Broadcasting and Production Award winners. These students were selected based on their dedication and ability to enhance and grow RMU club sports to a bigger and better part of the RMU community. Each of these students showed tremendous growth and leadership behind the scenes and on the air to bring RMU club sports live to all of our viewers, and our production would not be the same without them.

Outstanding Rookie Award: Kaitlyn Barnes

The 2025 Outstanding Rookie Award goes to Kaitlyn Barnes. Kaitlyn joined the team this year with an eagerness to take on any challenge, and she truly embraced every opportunity that came her way. Kaitlyn was willing to step into any role and did so with enthusiasm and determination. Despite having no prior experience, she quickly adapted and became a vital part of the team. One of her standout achievements was organizing a full-day broadcast for women's volleyball, a task that showcased her initiative to grow our platform. We are excited to see how she continues to grow and make an impact in the future.

Cinematography Award: Alyssa Diehl

The newly added Cinematography Award goes to Alyssa Diehl. Alyssa knows how to create content that evokes emotion, and she took the initiative to create multiple hype videos throughout the year, highlighting our teams. Alyssa's creativity shines through every frame, and her ability to capture the essence of each moment, paired with her attention to detail, elevates the impact of every video she produces. Her contributions have made a lasting impact on the team, and the countless hours she has spent taking and editing content do not go unnoticed.

Emerging On-Air Talent Award: TJ

The 2025 Emerging On-Air Talent Award is given to TJ Rose. TJ joined the broadcasting team last year, quickly proving himself to be a reliable and valuable asset to the team. This year, he has truly blossomed into a natural on the mic. He played an essential role in color commentary for many of our D3 games, offering a unique perspective that only someone with his close connections to the players could provide. This is just the beginning for TJ, and "I'm excited to see how he continues to evolve" (Payton Ernst). Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing him take the reins as he steps into the play-by-play role in the future.

Media Technician Award: Isabella Bigler

The 2025 Media Technician Award is given to Isabella Bigler. Over the years, Isabella has been a vital member of the staff, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our club sports broadcasts ran smoothly and without a hitch. Whether she was operating a camera, creating graphics, serving as Technical Director, or capturing behind-the-scenes content, Isabella was always willing to step in where needed. Her versatility and commitment to excellence made her an essential part of the team, and we could always count on her to solve any technical issues that arose. There is no doubt she will continue to excel in whatever she does next. As she graduates this semester, we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.

Golden Microphone Award: Cadeyn McCrory

The Golden Microphone Award goes to Cadeyn McCrory. Over the years, Cadeyn has not only become a recognizable voice for RMU club sports but has also shown a level of passion that is truly unparalleled. He has helped create some of the most memorable moments on air for RMU Club Sports, and his energy and excitement make every game feel like a must-watch event. His impact has been felt throughout the entire community, and in addition to being the head Play-by-Play voice, Cadeyn has contributed multiple articles to our club sports website. His work has been essential in expanding the reach of RMU club sports and raising awareness of the incredible talent and dedication of our students. His contributions have been invaluable, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things he'll continue to achieve.

Media Person of the Year Award: Andrew Kiehl

It is with great pleasure that we present the Media Person of the Year Award to Andrew Kiehl for the second consecutive year. Throughout his time at RMU, Andrew has proven time and time again that he is a versatile and invaluable asset to the team, excelling in every aspect of our broadcasts. As a member of the D4 team, Andrew's growth has been evident in all that he does. Whether it was producing, announcing, creating graphics, or providing technical support, Andrew has grown tremendously throughout his time at RMU, contributing to every area of our broadcasts. Andrew's contributions have made a lasting impact, and we look forward to seeing even more success from him in the future.  "I have had the privilege of watching him grow both professionally and personally, and he has stepped up in countless ways to ensure our streams are successful."
