Moon, PA- On April 21st, RMU Campus Recreation held the first annual end of year Club Sports Celebration. The laid back event had lawn games like cornhole, canjam, and aerosport along with food and was open to all club sports athletes. The highlight of the event was the Club Sports Awards, with several awards given to teams and individuals to recognize their hard work and success throughout the year.

Male Scholar Athlete of the Year: Roman Kraemer, D1 Club Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey

The junior Finance major from Pittsburgh, PA put together a year to remember for both D1 Club Ice Hockey and Tier I Roller Hockey. On the roller hockey side he put up a team leading 19 goals and 30 points in 8 games. On the ice in ACHA D1 action, he finished 8th in the country in goals with 29 and 4th in the nation in points with 63. On top of that, he finished with a 3.7 GPA.

Female Scholar Athlete of the Year: Briana Bunner, Women's Club Volleyball

The graduate student studying Counseling Psychology from Hunker, PA has had a great year on and off the court. Her 3.98 GPA is truly staggering, and a testament to her work ethic in the classroom. On the court her performance as a starting setter meant she was a main shotcaller and contributor to the Colonials offensive attack.

Coach of the Year: Taylore Williams, Club Basketball

An alumni of a program returning to be its coach and leading it to success isn't unheard of around here, and that's exactly what Coach Taylore Williams has done with the club basketball program. Acting as coach and mentor to the players he works with he helped lead the club to a season where they won twice as many games as they lost and their first regionals appearance in half a decade. He will also be involved in helping the new Women's Club basketball team get off the ground in the fall

Teams of Year: Co-ed Tier II Roller Hockey and Esports

A return unlike any other helps make this team one of this year's co-winners of the team of the year award. Being able to compete for the first time since the 19-20 season, the team was the class of the WPACRHL. Going a perfect 8-0 in the regular season and sweeping both playoff series to win the league championship.

Several years of building momentum led to a monumental season this year for Esports, and becoming co-team of the year. Esports had 7 different game titles they competed in that had a distinct win loss record this year. And in each of those 7 games Esports finished with a winning record while taking on some of the toughest competition the country has to offer.

Rising Star Team of the Year: Pickleball

While it's a sport that's quickly on the rise, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to maintain the rapid growth that this team has seen. No team practices as often as Pickleball and they put in so much work to organize and compete against other universities that is far from having a governing body. Going from practically non-existent to one of the front running  collegiate pickleball programs in the country makes them this year's Rising Stars Team.
