Moon, PA- Joe Walton Stadium was the place to be last Thursday as the Domers took the field to battle Slippery Rock in some homecoming rugby action. It was also a big night for the club in the stands as they made their debut on ESPN+. Despite the extra attention, RMU gave the home fans something to cheer for by the night's end.

Following the opening kickoff, the Domers had some trouble getting anything going offensively. They spent much of the opening 10 minutes stuck in their own end, and Slippery Rock had the majority of possession. Despite being tested early and often, RMU's defense looked solid and kept the game 0-0.

13 minutes into the first, RMU broke through to score the game's first points. Following a scrum on the far side of the field, the ball found its way to the hands of Abraham Kozloff. He broke through the SRU line and went on a 35 yard dash to the try zone for the score. Slippery Rock would score once before halftime to keep it close after the opening 40 minutes.

With only 7 minutes past halftime, Slippery Rock was issued a yellow card just a few feet from their try zone. On the ensuing play, David Moody for RMU powered it home to give RMU a 12-7 lead. With momentum on their side, RMU worked their way back into scoring position again a few minutes later. Coming off a scrum near where they scored only a few minutes earlier, RMU got the ball in space and Ryan Lowden-Stoole broke a tackle and put it in for the score. The conversion kick after was good and RMU went up 19-7.

With time winding down in the game, RMU was on the attack once again to put an exclamation point on the night and the game. Just before time expired, RMU's Claymon Stevenson ate a huge hit right at the line but held onto the ball and put 5 more points on the board for the final score of 24-7. RMU improved to 2-2 with the win and 2-1 in conference play.

RMU has a busy week ahead of them, with John Carroll University (10/16), Franciscan University (10/20), and Cal U (10/23) all coming up in the next week.
