RMU CoD falls to Bowling Green

2/4/2020 2:25:00 PM

Moon, PA- RMU's Call of Duty team took on Bowling Green for their 3rd ever match apart of the CCL, the Collegiate Call of Duty League. The match was streamed through the CCL's twitch page and had quite a few eyes on it to watch BGSU take on the fresh Colonials squad. The match ended 3-0 in favor of BGSU but there were some positives for the Colonials to take out of the match moving forward through the season.

The first match was Hardpoint on Gun Runner. RMU played even for the open minute of the game, before several poor rotations and lost 1 on 1s caused the Falcons to pull away. RMU fought back late in the match with a run of near 60 straight points. Freshman Robbie Seitz (Brutus) led the team in both kills with 23 and time on the hill at 49 seconds. The final Hardpoint score ended at 250-114.

Second was Search and Destroy on Arklov Peak. RMU got off to a hot start in this mode thanks to the work of junior AJ Lassick (Cryon). Lassick took out 10 in the first 4 rounds of Search and Destroy to help the Colonials stay in it. Strong efforts from captain Travis Scroger (Reakt) and Dale Miller (Silent) also helped RMU force a deciding round in the best of 11 series. However, in the final round Bowling Green faked an A push and snuck into B. Having lost control of the B site, RMU found themselves at a disadvantage to defuse. Jared Milstein's (JMil) double kill gave RMU numbers advantage to reclaim the B site, but a miscommunication led to a collapse an a 6-5 loss in the series total.

Finally, the match ended on Hackney Yard for Domination. RMU could not find a way through the spawn trap late in the first round, especially when they began spilt spawning. Bowling Green led for much of the match and ended the series at 3-0. The final score in Domination was 207-145. The Colonials now find themselves at 0-3 but are looking to regroup to take on Ohio State later this week.
