Moon, PA- Robert Morris played host to two matches this weekend for the Men's Club Volleyball team. They started with a match against John Carroll University, which ended in a 2 set loss for RMU. Then the Colonials matched up with IUP, and RMU took that match in 3 sets. RMU went 1-1 at home to start the spring semester.
In the first game against John Carroll, the opening set could have gone either way. Both teams traded opportunities to pull ahead, but ultimately it was John Carroll who ended up with the win 27-25 in the first set. In their second set, it was not as close. JCU had control of the match for most of the game and the Colonials dropped the second set by a score of 25-16. While it was a tough end to the match, the team regrouped for the match against IUP.
Robert Morris and IUP opened up their match with a wild first set. Neither side could get the edge late, and they stayed tied past 25 for several more points. RMU eventually was able to string two points in a row on the Crimson Hawks and RMU won the first set 30-28. IUP didn't let Robert Morris stretch it into extras a second game though, and the Crimson Hawks won the second set 25-19. In the decisive final set, RMU sealed the deal with a 15-9 victory.
They are now 1-0 within the division this semester thanks to the victory of IUP.
