RMU is gaining traction as a pickleball playing campus. The university offers two sections of a one-credit wellness class in pickleball, while also offering pickleball leagues. Pickleball courts are lined at the John Jay Gymnasium and there are three outdoor courts at the North Athletic Complex. We offer intramural leagues in both the spring and fall semesters and most recently the university partnered with Gamma Pickleball to host the 1st Annual College Pickleball Open! The event helped raise over $500 for the RMU Campus Recreation Fund through registration costs, raffle ticket sales, and business donations. We had teams from three different states and six different institutions with teams coming from as far as Buffalo, NY. Overall the tournament was a great success and we look forward to growing it for next year.
