The RMU Men's Bowling team is thrilled to announce the official signing and commitment of Nick Trentler of Phoenix, Maryland.
Nick, along with his family and friends, gathered to celebrate his high school graduation and his decision to join the Bobby Mo family and become a Colonial. He brings exceptional talent and an impressive list of bowling accomplishments, highlighted by his success on the national stage.
A former Virginia State Pepsi Champion, Nick has recorded outstanding finishes at numerous national tournaments, including four top-four finishes at the Storm Youth Championships, a first-place and second-place finish on the PBA Jr. Regional Tour, and a third-place finish on the PBA Jr. National Tour.
Most notably, Nick has earned multiple top-four finishes at the Junior Gold National Championships, the most prestigious youth bowling tournament in the country. His recent third- and fourth-place finishes helped him earn a spot on Jr. Team USA in 2024 and 2025. Nick rounds out his impressive resume with numerous Storm Mid-Atlantic and PJBT titles, as well as 12 sanctioned perfect 300 games and three sanctioned 800 series.
"With all of Nick's successes, his unique skill set will bring valuable experience to an already stellar team," said Coach Ramon Estrada. "I am looking forward to seeing this young man continue to grow with our amazing team."
Nick joins Tim Pfiefer and Jason Wunderlich as the third member of Jr. Team USA to bowl for RMU. Tim and Jason helped lead the Colonials to a runner-up finish at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships in 2007, with Tim also capturing the Intercollegiate Singles Championship that same year.
Nick will begin his studies at the Moon Township campus in Fall 2026, pursuing a degree in Biology within the School of Engineering and Science.
The entire Club Sports department is excited to welcome Nick to the university and looks forward to all he will accomplish as a Colonial.
