Shaler Area High School Bowling Captain Brooke Callahan Signs with Robert Morris University
PITTSBURGH, PA — Robert Morris University Club Sports is proud to announce the signing of Brooke Callahan to the Colonials' Women's Bowling team. Callahan, the standout captain and anchor for Shaler Area High School, officially committed to continue her athletic and academic career at RMU starting in August 2026.
A Proven Track Record on the Lanes
A three-year varsity letter winner, Callahan has been a cornerstone of the Shaler Area program. As the team's anchor, she has consistently delivered in high-pressure situations, boasting an impressive 183 average. Her career highlights include a personal high game of 267 and a staggering 698 high series.
Beyond high school competition, Brooke has proven herself on the national stage. She has officially qualified for the 2026 Junior Gold Championships, the premier national youth bowling tournament sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), which will take place this summer in Minneapolis, MN.
The RMU coaching staff is eager to integrate Callahan's talent into the roster. "We are so excited to have Brooke join our women's team. She brings competition experience and a dedication to the sport that will greatly benefit the women's program." said Coach Katie Shumaker
John Michalenko, RMU Club Bowling Director added, "Brooke has found the perfect fit at RMU. Her experience at Shaler High School and qualifying for the national Junior Gold tournament are exceptional accomplishments. We are thrilled to have her join the team."
In addition to her commitments on the lanes, Callahan is focused on a rigorous academic path. She plans to major in Biology/Pre-Med at Robert Morris, balancing her athletic aspirations with her goals in the medical field.
