RMU ACHA D3 Honors Its Seniors on Senior Night

Senior Night is always a special moment, and this season, the RMU ACHA Division III hockey program recognized a group of seniors whose dedication, leadership, and passion helped shape the team both on and off the ice. These Colonials leave behind a legacy of commitment and growth.
#7 Jackson Vukman
Hometown: Blairsville, PA
Major: B.S.B.A. with a focus in Sport Management, Masters of Business Administration
Certificates: Logistics & Content Creation; Graduate Certificate in Risk Management
Hockey Experience: Vukman brought more than a decade of hockey experience to RMU, having played for the Allegheny Badgers, Indiana Chiefs, and Central Cambria High School. His impact extended beyond the rink, combining leadership with a strong academic background.
Future Plans: Continue working in professional sports, specifically marketing and partnerships.
Favorite RMU Memory: "Norm is still calling me Wade after four years, spending time with my teammates, and watching my friends turn into the best versions of themselves."

#13 Wade Daniels
Hometown: Duke Center, PA
Major: Industrial Engineering
With 16 seasons of hockey under his belt, including stops with the Olean Arrows, Bradford Owls, Jamestown Lakers, and Hamburg Hawks, Daniels was a steady presence in the RMU lineup.
Future Plans: Begin his industrial engineering career in the manufacturing field back home.
Favorite RMU Memories: "Late-night bus trips, Pepsi, Norm calling me Jackson, and making fun of Big."

#11 Noah Long
Hometown: Gibsonia, PA
Major: Marketing
Long's hockey journey began at just three years old with the Little Pens before developing through Butler Valley Dawgs, Steel City Ice Renegades, and Deer Lakes High School.
Future Plans: Continue his education at RMU and pursue an MBA.
Favorite RMU Memory: Sophomore year Secret Santa.

#2 Brice Mroczka
Hometown: Johnstown, PA
Major: Criminal Justice
Minor: Forensics
After playing travel hockey with the Indiana Chiefs, Mroczka made his mark at RMU with memorable moments both on the ice and in the locker room.
Future Plans: Become a forensics investigator following graduation.
Favorite RMU Memories: "Scoring my first D3 goal in my hometown against UPJ, making lifelong friends, and sitting next to 'Bird' in the locker room."

#30 Brock Mroczka
Hometown: Johnstown, PA
Major: B.S. in Criminal Justice; M.S. in Criminal Investigations
Brock's hockey background includes time with the Johnstown Warriors, Jets, Appalachian Elite, and Trojans.
Future Plans: Pursue a career in criminal justice.
Favorite RMU Memory: Bus rides and road trips with the team.

#24 Ryan Riffner
Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA
Major: Middle-Level Education (Mathematics)
Riffner played his youth hockey with the Amateur Pens, Renegades, Vipers, and Shaler before joining RMU.
Future Plans: Become a 7th-grade math teacher.
Favorite RMU Memories: "Championship overtime win freshman year for D4, being coached by my brother and dad, and having my family at every game."

#22 Luke Rose
Hometown: Penn Hills, PA
Majors: Business Administration; Sports Management
Rose brought a diverse hockey background to RMU, including AAA, AA, Single A, high school hockey, and USA Ball Hockey.
Future Plans: Work in the sports industry in Pittsburgh.
Favorite RMU Memory: "Three nights in Flint, Michigan, over the years after our first game of the season."

#1 Luke Zukowski
Hometown: Ohio Township, PA
Major: Sports Management
Zucowski played for the Arctic Foxes and Avonworth High School before joining RMU.
Future Plans: Work in the NHL as an equipment manager or in sales for Sunbelt Rentals.
Favorite RMU Memories: "Groundhog Day, beating Kent State in Kent, and getting called up to the NCAA team."

#6 Deven Lomango
Hometown: Canonsburg, PA
Major: Business Management
Graduate Degree: MBA in Risk Management
Certificate: Entrepreneurship
Lomango spent years with the Southpointe Rinkrats and Canon-McMillan High School before arriving at RMU.
Future Plans: Continue in project management and grow a company focused on operations and problem-solving.
Favorite RMU Memories: "3OT playoff win against Kent State, road trips, and talks with the boys."

Ramsey Brown- Equipment Manager
Hometown: Sharon, PA
Major: Computer Information Systems
Brown began his RMU hockey journey this season as a first-year equipment manager, quickly becoming an integral part of the program.
Future Plans: Continue his IT internship and career with Thomas Steel in Warren, Ohio.
Favorite RMU Memory: "Meeting all the players and watching the World Series with teammates during a road game."

RMU Downs Kent State in Senior Night Shootout Thriller
RMU Island Sports Center Clearview Arena, Moon Township, PA
The RMU ACHA Division III hockey team closed out Senior Night in dramatic fashion, earning a 5-4 shootout victory over Kent State Saturday evening at the RMU Island Sports Arena. The contest featured momentum swings throughout regulation, a scoreless overtime, and a clutch shootout winner that capped off an unforgettable night.
First Period
RMU opened the scoring late in the first period when #10 Alex Cassivi buried his 11th goal of the season at 18:47, finishing a play set up by #24 Ryan Riffner. Kent State answered at 11:14, as a loose puck trickled in from behind the net to tie the game at 1-1.
Second Period
Cassivi struck again early in the second period, recording his 12th goal of the year just 1:04 into the frame (18:56), with #20 Kyle Kloss earning the assist. Kent State responded at 11:38 to even the score. Riffner moments later, the senior found the back of the net at 10:46, finishing a feed from Cassivi to give RMU a 3-2 advantage. Kent State once again had an answer, tying the game at 10:02 and sending the teams into the third period locked at 3-3.
Third Period
Kent State grabbed the lead for the first time at 11:56, but RMU refused to fade. With just 3:45 remaining, #20 Kyle Kloss came through with the equalizer, scoring off an assist from #4 Owen Newton to force overtime.
Overtime
Despite quality chances at both ends, neither team could find the game-winner in the extra frame, setting the stage for a shootout.
Shootout
The shootout extended to the fifth round, with both teams trading goals and saves. After tallies from Cassivi, Kloss, and #16 Braden Rogerson earlier in the shootout, Ryan Riffner stepped up and delivered the game-winning shootout goal, sealing the victory and ending Senior Night on the perfect note.
