The D4 Men's Club Hockey Team came into 2024-25 looking for their third straight championship title. 

The Colonials started out rough with 3 straight losses to Penn State Behrend (d2), Duquesne (d3), and rival Penn State Altoona. RMU proceeded on a 2-game win streak vs Cal U twice out scoring them 13-1. RMU would host Altoona, again falling 5-1. The Colonials would close 2024 with a 3-game win streak with wins over Carnegie Mellon (2), and Cleveland State. Assistant Capt Tyler Antonellis graduated in the winter so a big hole in the roster was left in his absence. 

RMU started 2025 right with a massive home-ice victory over CMU that inched them closer to making their third straight championship. Back-to-back losses to Altoona and CMU put the Colonials on their heels but battled back with back-to-back victories over Cal U to secure a spot in the CHE championship. 

RMU would face their third new opponent in the CHE finale, this time being the PSA Lions who have beaten RMU in all prior matchups that season. Altoona would come out swinging with an early goal and never seemed to look back. RMU would get two late goals to close the margin but it would not be enough as they would fall in the championship. 

To win back-to-back championships is nothing short of amazing, to make it to three straight championships is near impossible. The RMU squad has much to be proud of and will look to make it four straight appearances next season. Many faces will depart after being part of the return of the program post-Covid. Netminders Andrew Kiehl, Keegan Mackey, and Brock Mroczka, defensemen Zack Page and Braidon Wolfe, as well as Captain Nate Barr and forwards Kris Connelly and Owen McFarland, will all graduate but the impact they have left is nothing short of incredible.
