RMU ACHA D3 Dominates Case Western in High-Scoring Victory
Moon Township, PA – January 31, 2025- The RMU ACHA D3 had a dominant performance Friday night, securing an 11-4 victory over Case Western in a game defined by physical play and relentless offensive pressure.
RMU came out strong in the first period, forward #21 Zachary Blevins led the charge, scoring twice at 14:47 and 10:48, with assists from #16 Brandon Lindsey and #23 Adam Sciorilli. #26 Austin Patnesky followed up with a bardown snipe at 9:16. Case Western responded with goals at 7:11 and 6:01 to keep it close. Shots at the end of the first period slightly favored Case Western, 9-7.
In the second period, RMU pushed forward, fueled by #21 Blevins hat trick goal at 14:57, assisted by #20 Kyle Kloss and #17 John Betz. RMU's offensive rushes continued as #2 Joey Laquatra scored at 4:46 (assisted by #28 Zachary Fuerst), followed by back-to-back goals from #17 John Betz at 4:40 (assisted by #21 Blevins) and #21 Blevins at 3:48—his fourth of the game set up by #11 Noah Long and #26Patnesky. In the final minute of the period, #24 Gavin Crivelli netted a short-handed goal with help from #20 Kloss and #11 Noah Long. Case Western managed a goal at 17:47, but RMU continued to push forward the momentum. Shots in the second favored Case Western, 24-17.
The third period sealed RMU's victory. #17 Betz completed his hat trick with goals at 15:30 (assisted by #21 Blevins and #11 Long) and 8:19 (assisted by #24 Crivelli). #2 Laquatra added another tally at 12:49, assisted by #23 Sciorilli. Case Western found the net once more in the final 40 seconds, but it wasn't enough to come back in the game.
Despite being outshot 28-25, RMU's efficiency on offense and a strong defensive effort secured the win. Goaltender #1 Luke Zukowski started in the net but was replaced after an injury by Gunner Fulton. The Colonials' relentless attack and physicality proved too much for Case Western, closing out an 11-4 victory.

John Carroll set the tone early, scoring three times in the first period. RMU responded with a lone goal from #8 Keith Reed, but the Colonials struggled to generate further offense.
The second period saw no scoring, as both teams tightened up defensively. RMU fought to gain momentum but couldn't capitalize on their chances.

The first period saw strong defensive play from both teams, resulting in a scoreless opening frame. In the second period, CMU broke the deadlock with a goal, but RMU responded in the final moments as #24 Ryan Riffner found the back of the net with just 36.6 seconds remaining to tie the game.
The third period remained scoreless as both goaltenders stood tall, forcing overtime. In the extra frame, CMU capitalized on an opportunity, netting the game-winner to secure a 2-1 victory.

Clearview Arena – February 1, 2025, RMU ACHA D1 took on IUP at home Saturday night but came up short in a 5-2 loss after a strong offensive showing from the visitors.
IUP controlled the early game, scoring twice in the first period and adding two more goals in the second to build a 4-0 lead heading into the final frame.
In the third period, IUP extended their lead with another goal before RMU found some momentum. #27 Garrett Walker put RMU on the board, followed by another goal from Rohrich, but the Colonials couldn't complete the comeback.

Mercyhurst struck first, scoring twice in the opening period before #21 Erin Secelia responded with RMU's lone goal to keep the game within reach.
The second period saw Mercyhurst extend their lead with three more goals, putting RMU in a tough spot heading into the final frame. Despite a strong defensive effort in the third, neither team found the back of the net, sealing the 5-1 victory for Mercyhurst.

RMU ACHA D3 Shuts Out Kent State Behind Brosovics Stellar Performance
Kent State Arena – February 1, 2025, RMU ACHA D3 secured a 2-0 victory over Kent State on Saturday night, powered by a dominant defensive effort and a 29-save shutout from #31 Jeremiah Brosovic.
The game remained scoreless through the first period as both teams played tight defensively. In the second period, RMU broke the deadlock when #23 Adam Sciorilli capitalized on a power play at 1:15, firing a shot from the point to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead.
The third period saw Kent State push for an equalizer, but RMU's defense and #31 Brosovic stood strong. With 1:32 remaining, #17 John Betz sealed the win with an empty-net goal, securing the shutout victory.
