Robert Morris University's Women's Club Volleyball team traveled to Clarion University last week for their second tournament of the season. They faced teams including IUP, Slippery Rock, Carnegie Mellon, and Gannon.
Through pool play, the RMU A team went undefeated with a 6-0 record, earning the top seed in the gold bracket. The RMU B team also performed well, finishing with a 2-4 record and claiming the eighth seed in the gold bracket.
The impressive accomplishment of both teams reaching the gold bracket set up an all-RMU matchup in the first round of the playoffs. RMU A defeated RMU B and advanced to the championship match, where they faced IUP A. After two competitive sets, RMU A came out on top, winning Clarion's tournament!
Jillian Fry led the A team in assists, while Cassidy Adams recorded the most kills. For the B team, libero Hailey Williams anchored the defense with the most digs, refusing to let a ball hit the floor. Outside hitter Emma Gruska also had a standout day at the net, contributing significantly on offense.
Overall, both teams had a strong showing, with each earning a place in the gold bracket and representing RMU with pride.
