RMU D3 Falls to Lawrence Tech in Series Opener

The RMU Colonials Division 3 team opened its weekend against Lawrence Tech on Friday evening at the Olympic Ice Arena. Despite battling hard, the Colonials fell 8–1 to the Blue Devils. Lawrence Tech struck early with two goals in the first period, setting the tone for the night. RMU responded in the second when forward #3 Ameer Cooper buried a rebound at 12:08, assisted by #26 Austin Patnesky and #16 Brayden Rogerson. However, the Blue Devils answered with four second-period goals and two more in the third to secure the win.

Goaltender #1 Luke Zukowski faced a heavy shot, ignoring numerous chances as LTU out shot RMU 60–25.

Colonials D1 Falls Short in Friday Night Battle

At the Clearview Arena, RMU Division I faced Lawrence Tech in a hard-fought contest that saw the Colonials fall 4–2.

The Blue Devils built an early lead with three goals in the opening frame, but RMU responded in the second period when #17 Jackson Hayburn scored his first career goal on the power play to get the Colonials on the board. Momentum carried into the third, where #22 Gavin Crivelli struck at 12:08 to pull RMU within one. However, Lawrence Tech sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

The Colonials showed strength in their comeback effort, but ultimately came up short in the opener.

Zukowski Shines, But D3 Colonials Fall in Rematch

Goaltender #1 Luke Zukowski had a strong performance with more than 40 saves, but the Colonials Division III squad dropped a 3–1 decision to Lawrence Tech in Saturday's rematch. After a scoreless first period where Zukowski stopped 28 shots, the Blue Devils broke through with a power-play tally at 6:37 of the second. LTU added another late in the frame, carrying a 2–0 lead into the third.

The Colonials answered back when #10 Alex Cassivi buried a top-corner snipe at 5:32, cutting the deficit to one. Lawrence Tech responded minutes later, however, and closed out the game 3–1.

D1 Colonials Shut Out by Lawrence Tech in Saturday Matchup

September 27, 2025- Clearview Arena, RMU Island Sports Center

 

The RMU Division I team wrapped up their home weekend series with a 5–0 loss to Lawrence Tech on Saturday evening. The Blue Devils capitalized early with two first-period goals and extended their lead in the second with three more tallies, including one off a turnover at 17:39. Despite a determined third period from the Colonials, RMU was unable to solve the LTU goaltender.

Final Score: Lawrence Tech 5, RMU 0
