The RMU Club Ultimate Frisbee team opened their season at home against Youngstown State on Friday October 6th. The game ended with a final score of 15 -13 with the Colonials finishing on top. The team saw stellar performances from a number of players who helped contribute to the win.  

Christopher Powell led the team with 5 points while also contributing a key assist and 2 important blocks on defense. Chandler Dameron displayed great defensive skills with an impressive 6 blocks, along with 2 points and an assist. Ford Healey, Allen Ziegler and Evan Schmetzer each added a point as well. Healey showcased his versatility by also providing an assist and making a significant impact on the defensive end with 6 blocks as well. Ziegler and Schmetzer displayed excellent play making abilities recording a combined total of 7 assists. 

The turning point in the game came when the Colonials were trailing 11-13. Sophomore Ford Healey made a game-changing play by catching a Callahan, which is essentially the ultimate frisbee equivalent of a pick-six in football. This not only earned the team a point but also shifted the momentum in their favor. Shortly after, Chris Powell delivered a perfect 70-yard flick pass to Chandler Dameron, who made a spectacular layout catch to tie the game. This combination of skill and teamwork proved pivotal as the Colonials went on to secure the victory.

The team's vice president and captain, Zach Budday (AKA Zdog), expressed that he is looking forward to a great season with the boys and seeing how they progress as a team!
