Pittsburgh, PA- RMU's Club Baseball team wrapped up a three game series against Carnegie Mellon over the weekend downtown. With a couple bounces the other way, RMU could have walked out with a 3-0 series. But in reality RMU goes 1-2 on the weekend, with a 8-3 win in the first game and then back to back 5-6 losses.

RMU opened the series with a big 8-3 win thanks to strong hitting and a bend but don't break defense. Starting pitcher Ryan Myers went the distance in Game 1, pitching a statline of 7.0 IP, 8 Hits, 3 K's, 2 BB, 1 Earned Run, and 3 Runs Allowed.

In Game 2, RMU got behind the eight ball early as CMU put up four runs in the first inning. Out of the bullpen Andrew Sheeler helped RMU get back into the game. In 5.33 IP, he put down 5 K's, 2 BB, 1 Earned Run, and only 2 runs allowed in the relief effort. RMU brought the game back even entering the bottom of the final inning, but a CMU walk-off single ended it 5-6

In the rubber match, it was another close game between the two squads. Robbie Seitz was the starter for RMU in this one and helped keep it close. But ultimately, it was another 5-6 loss to CMU. Over the course of the weekend, RMU's top batters were Andrew Sheeler and Josh Hittle. Sheeler went 5 for 10 with a double, a home run, and a stolen base. Hittle went 5 for 10 with two doubles and 4 RBIs.

RMU looks to rebound from the tough series this weekend in California, PA when they take on Cal U on the 9th and 10th.
