Columbus, OH- The Men's Bowling team had a successful trip to Columbus for the second conference tournament of the year. The Varsity team finished 5th overall out of 15 schools, JV1 finished 1st out of 11 in the JV division, and JV2 finished 7th in the division. Several Colonials across multiple teams made their respective all tournament teams as well.

Varsity: 

The Men's Varsity team opened with a 941 in their first game, led by Antonio Willar's 213. They had an incredible 2nd game where the team rolled a 1,081, or a team average of 216.2. Antonio Willar's 242 and Anthony Damone's 234 were the highs for the team in Game 2, with the other three bowlers (A. Smith 212, J. Meyer 201, M. Livingston 192) all putting up strong games as well. Alexander Smith's 241 in Game 3 led the Colonials to a 968, and Smith improved on his high game in Game 3 with a 246 in Game 4. Game 4 was a 1,021 for the Colonials, putting the team at 4,011 after the team games.

RMU's Varsity team averaged a 192.4 over their 16 baker games, and their final total was 7,089 pins for the event. This put RMU 5th in the 15 team field, and only 90 pins out of 3rd place. Alexander Smith made the all tournament with his 904 total (226 average), ranking 3rd overall in varsity bowlers.

JV1:

JV1 got off to a strong start in their division with a 927 in the first game, and followed it up with a 946. Michael Smith was locked in all day, with a 222 and 235 in his opening two games. The Colonials fell off just a hair in Game 3 with an 878, but bounced back in the final game of 948. This final game included a 243 from Michael Smith and a 235 from Kendall Battles. This put RMU JV1 2nd with a 3,699 score. They only had a 40 pin deficit to first place.

The JV1 team put up a score of 3,001 in the baker games, an average of 187.56 per game. With provisional leader Notre Dame College only putting up a 2,865, the Colonials shot into first place and took home the victory by 96 pins. Michael Smith was named to the all-tournament team as the top JV bowler on the day.

JV2: 

The JV2 team had a fair bit of highlights despite finishing 7th in the JV field. The Colonials opened up Game 1 with a 886 thanks to a 237 from Bradley Kokan and a 230 from Ben Herman. Game 2 saw them throw an 896 to keep pace, and then reached 941 in Game 3. Ben Herman's 224 and Samuel Goldberg's 220 led the team for Game 3. A bit of a stumble at the end of the team games saw RMU JV2 roll a 777. At 3,500 pins, JV2 sat 5th.

RMU JV2 added 2,685 pins in the baker games, an average of 167.81 pins a game. The struggles during the baker games saw the team slip down to 7th in the division with a final total of 6,185. Ben Herman was named to the JV All-tournament team, finishing 2nd among JV bowlers. He only trailed JV1 teammate Michael Smith. 

 
The next time the Colonials bowling team will be in action is November 13th for the Wright State Raider Classic.
