Moon, PA- A member of the RMU Esports program was recognized recently for being one of the standout players in NACE Rocket League action in 2019-2020. Rising junior
Michael Campbell (Reprivation) was honored by the National Association of Collegiate Esports for his season in the title Rocket League by being named to the NACE All-Star team. Only 6 students nationwide received this award.
It's a fitting addition to the resume for "Rep", who was 1/3
rd of the school's top Rocket League squad who put together an outstanding 19-20 campaign. Rocket League Blue as they were known finished in the Final 4 of the NACE Fall Rocket League Championship, and finished 2
nd overall in the NACE Rocket League Spring Cup. Rep was a big reason for how the team got so far in both tournaments, with his rock solid positioning and incredible finishing ability making him a threat to score whenever he got the ball.
When asked about this award, Rep said with a laugh, "It's definitely a big accomplishment, and something I wasn't really expecting". He was very complimentary of his teammates adding, "But of course the team is what got me there, I'm proud of myself and them to say we got as far as we did. And I'm thankful to NACE and RMU for the opportunity. The plan now is to do just as good if not better in the future!"
When asked about what the award meant for the program, Director of Campus Recreation
Armand Buzzelli said, "I am very proud of Mike and his contributions to our Esports program. He's both humble and an extremely talented player and he's helped make our Rocket League team one of the best collegiate teams in the country this past year. We're expecting big things from him and our returning players this upcoming season."
